marilynd Posted May 7, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 7, 2004 I don't remember from last year when I was on the Dawn. Is there a shuttle from where the Dawn is docked into the town. I remember that there was quite a long walk into town. A recent Disney cruise line passenger told me that she had a little golf cart like shuttle from the ship to the town. Is there something like that? After a day of shopping it would be nice to not have to walk back to the ship. Hobbsey Posted May 7, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 7, 2004 Hi, We were just there on Saturday and I didn't see any shuttle from the ship to the passenger center. Once you get out of the center it's all taxis and vans. 1968 Lurline (Matson) 1969 Mariposa (Matson) 1998 Seabreeze (Premier) 1998 Century (Celebrity) 1999 Seabreeze (Premier) 1999 Norwegian Crown (NCL) 1999 Voyager of the Seas (RCL) 2000 Westerdam (HAL) 2000 Carnival Victory (CCL) 2000 Sensation (CCL) 2001 Mercury (Celebrity) 2001 Norwegian Majesty (NCL) 2001 Vision of the Seas (RCL) 2002 Norwegian Wind (NCL) 2004 Maasdam (HAL)
smeyer418 Posted May 7, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 7, 2004 There is a little shuttle on the Pier that takes you to the reception center. The reception center is really right in town. There is a shopping street and the straw Market is less than a 10 minute walk. We walked down to the Hilton Hotel which is about another 5 minute walk. Taking the shuttle to the reception center may save you a 5-10 minute walk depending on which dock your ship is at. There is a shuttle stop on each pier and in front of the reception center. But as I said its an easy walk.
wanderlust17 Posted May 7, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 7, 2004 There is definitely a shuttle service. Be sure to ask about it. when we were there in Sept. it was a bus. It can be a long walk in the heat and if you are carrying dive stuff or shopping bags. Because of security taxis cannot go on the pier so the shuttle is a real help. marilynd Posted May 8, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted May 8, 2004 Thanks all for the information. It will make shopping easier if we can ride rather than carrying SO MANY - HEAVY packages. LOL Here's to shopping !!!!!!
