Just Back from Wonder Mx Riviera NY's -Useful & Not So Useful & Other Thoughts

Hi,

Just got from cruising on the Wonder over New Year's with 2 ports of call - Cabo and PV. We went with 15 extended family members. I wanted to offer some experiences for those who haven't been.

BTW, the tip thread, which I read in its entirety is really useful.

What I brought and was useful:

-Travel power strip

-Nighlight

-Over the door hooks

-Over the door shoe organizer for clothes - I thought that this was going to be a waste, but it was really helpful.

-Regular and underwater camera

-16 GB and three 8 GB SD cards

-IPod with music to drown out steps in the hallway at night

-Extra alarm clock

-Water bottles

What I brought and didn't use:

-Quad band phone with SIM card

-Flashlights for the kids

-Stack of $100 in singles - can get change at Guest Services, can use room key at laundry

-More than 1 swimsuit. I just wore the wet one.

-Door magnets and magnetic board on door

What I wished I had brought:

-Cap - I forgot and bought one at the first port

-Earplugs - NY's was really loud for the kids

-Extra LiIon for the camera

Other thoughts:

-Wave phone was somewhat useful. Most people in our party kept missing the calls, because they couldn't feel it. Regardless for us, I don't think that radios would have been necessary.

-We didn't make any shore excursion plans but just kind of played it by ear. In both ports, there were plenty of tour providers. For example, in Cabo, we got the glass bottom boat tour with drop off/pick up at any beach in the harbor for $65 plus tip for 15 of us. We just went snorkeling where all the other boats were. Not sure what it would have been through Disney, but I think that at least in the ~$250 range.

Best,

Jim
