bozemanman Posted January 9, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 9, 2012 DW and I are doing a TA in April and will be staying in Barcelona for a few days afterward. While searching for options ie cell roaming charges, is my phone going to work in Europe (NOT) etc....I found an answer. I am takig my laptop with us and found magic jack (no I don't work for them) will work from Europe (anywhere) for free to call the US. All we need is internet and the call is free (after the annual charge) great deal!!!;) Now I know this is not really a HAL topic but for anyone traveling outside the US...it works! RMLincoln Posted January 9, 2012 #2 Share Posted January 9, 2012 Sykpe has no fees if you "call" people who also have skype; skype calls can be audio only or audio/video, at will. Download it free from skype dot com. Works anywhere you can get web acccess. You'll need a computer or netbook that has at least a microphone, better if it has a camera eye too. It can also be used for making calls to regular phone numbers (non-skype accounts) for pennies, worldwide. Just offering an alternative. m--

I just don't really like skype, it's kind of like talking on a speakerphone...and magic jack IS a real phone. But it's great to have choices....isn't it?
