ladyvette826 Posted January 10, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 10, 2012 I will be visiting La Romana during a cruise in June aboard the Carnival Freedom. So far, I can't seem to find any good information about what to do while there. The only two things I've found to be of any interest is the Dreams resort and Catalina Island. How would I get to Catalina Island if I was to decide to go there? Most of the excursions I've read about so far include doing other things such as mangroves, snorkeling, etc. I don't want to do anything but go to the island, spend the day there and then return to the port. Is there a ferry/boat that you can take out to Catalina Island? If so, does anyone know how much it costs? Also, how much does it cost to spend the day at Catalina Island? Is there someone you have to call to make a reservation or do you just show up there? I apologize for all of the questions, but I'm just trying to figure out what my options are and so far, it's looking like there isn't many to choose from. Thanks! JUST TRIPPIN' Posted January 10, 2012 #2 Share Posted January 10, 2012 Seavisbayahibe dot com Try the Saona Island excursion. It was great and highly recommended on tripadvisor. Can be a little rough at times on the speedboat, but very, very fun day.

JUST TRIPPIN' Posted January 10, 2012 #4 Share Posted January 10, 2012 You are lurking on the wrong thread. You are going to the northeast side of the DR. Glad you stopped in to say hi to me though. :D
