hawaiideb Posted January 16, 2012 #2 Share Posted January 16, 2012 Sailing from Barcelona in July on the Spirit. Anything we should know that will be of help. 4 adults, 2 teenagers and a 3 yr old. All suggestions will be welcomed. Join the roll call for your sailing. We were going to go on the Spirit in June, but have had to postpone for a year. Now booked for the same trip summer 2013 :) Anyway, there were lots of people starting to plan on our roll call. Great suggestions for hotels, excursions, and port of call ideas. Good luck, and post a review when you come back. I'll be on the Spirit in New Orleans in 2 months. DH was on her in September, and going again in March with me. He really liked the ship and crew! Have fun planning!! Debbie
fiftyguy Posted January 17, 2012 #3 Share Posted January 17, 2012 really nice ship. We loved the Asian decor - very different from most ships. Your 3 yr old will love the kids pool located aft on deck 10. We also loved hanging out at the Raffles cafe out side the buffet. happy cruising! Cruzinnana47 Posted January 17, 2012 #4 Share Posted January 17, 2012 The Spirit is one of our favorite ships so far--nice size, easy to navigate. We loved the Asian-inspired decor, the teak promenade deck, the bridge viewing area. Just a unique ship--and with a great, friendly crew. Enjoy your cruise! bravestwj Posted January 17, 2012 #5 Share Posted January 17, 2012 I'm Hawaiideb's husband (a few posts back)...I like that the casino is all the way forward on deck 7 and you don't have to walk through it. I'm an avid non-smoker and love not having to go anywhere near the casino unless I'm going there.
Ms belp Posted January 17, 2012 #6 Share Posted January 17, 2012 I loved the Spirit and its Asian decor. We were looking forward to another cruise on her out of New Orleans but issues forced us to cancel. I wish she was staying in the US. They say that cruise lines have over done Europe and now are moving ships back to the Caribbean. I wish NCL would reconsider moving her.:(
PreciousCruiser Posted January 17, 2012 #7 Share Posted January 17, 2012 Will be on The Spirit in March and can't wait. Will post some thoughts when I return. Not sure what else to say, other than, read members reviews about the ship, and ck out your roll call. Enjoy... :)

Lollygil Posted January 17, 2012 #9 Share Posted January 17, 2012 We loved the Spirit and of course New Orleans. Get out and tour the city before you get on board--if you can get an overnight go for it! Even with kids it is a fun city. The Ghost Tour at night is not super scary but filled with history. Beignets at Cafe du Monde, do a swamp tour, a horse drawn carriage ride thru the FQ.
