I see a reference here that is is about half a mile to the split from the water taxi, but still not that far.

I hope you know Caye Caulker isn't real beachy. I guess what I mean is there isn't a beach entrance to the water that isn't filled with sea grass.

You can jump in the water from the concrete dock at the split but I don't know if it's what I would classify as a "swimming beach" as you called it.

 

My group had fun there but if you're looking to lounge in the sand and wade in the water I would do it at Costa Maya, Cozumel, or Grand Cayman (if you're stopping at any of those).
