Ive heard that Port Lucaya requires a cab or bus from the port....does anyone know the mileage distance....thinking of hiking there....even if it takes an hour or so....also would you think it would be safe to do?
Definitely way way too far to walk. Unsure of the distance but a least 10-15 miles.

I recall driving through several industrial areas to get to Port Lucaya, so even if you are good with walking 10-15 miles, I wouldn't want to be walking alone or in a small group in those areas. Not sure if there is another way to get there or not.

It's not a hike I would recommend. It's about a 20 minute cab ride, through a very industrial area. It didn't look like there were any sidewalks or walking paths and the road between Lucaya and the port seemed very busy with speeding taxis. Maybe take a cab into town and hike back if you think it is something you'd like to do.

Been to Port LuCaya a few times and always took a mini van or something that will carry about 8 or 10 people. Its way too far to walk. If I remember correctly its about a 20 or 30 minute ride.

The Market is really fun to see with lots of handcrafted items. Across the street there is a Casino. If you take mini van or bus, arrange a time with everyone else in it on a time to meet and head back to the ship and let the driver know. Hopefully he will be as nice as the drivers we have had and will wait for everyone and get paid when you get back to port. Last year the cost was around $4 or $5 per person round trip..
