MISSSNOOPYGIRL Posted January 20, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 20, 2012 My mom had me cracking up a few days ago talking about her fears for her first cruise. She said she's afraid of 2 things- wind and sharks. Why wind? She's afraid she's going to be blown overboard. When I asked her how a shark was going to get her she said, "what if the boat tips?" Then I told her about the "secret door" which leads to a mostly deserted (and windy) deck. She said oh no that must be dangerous I wouldn't want to go there if no one else was there. Starlight Durban Cruising Posted January 20, 2012 #4 Share Posted January 20, 2012 LOL, when I was a kid in the 70's I went to watch Jaws in the movie house on one of the old British mail ships. Did not sleep much for the next few days - too worried about "what if Jaws comes to attack the ship".
MISSSNOOPYGIRL Posted January 20, 2012 Author #5 Share Posted January 20, 2012 Ha these responses are great! We were thinking of things to say to her on the cruise...y'know, a little fun teasing at her expense!
sailaway4 Posted January 20, 2012 #6 Share Posted January 20, 2012 How about attaching an alarm on her and if she gets too close to the sides of the ship, the alarm will go off.

Trish12345 Posted January 21, 2012 #9 Share Posted January 21, 2012 Yes! The secret door. We had Cabin 9206 on the last 2 cruises. We had a window looking out onto that front deck. When the wind is strong, it is almost impossible to open that door to get back inside the ship. However, you can get some great pics of the ship's bell from that deck! SailAway911 Posted January 21, 2012 #10 Share Posted January 21, 2012 Where is this secret door at?? I'll be on the Magic in a couple weeks and I'd like to check this out.
Trish12345 Posted January 21, 2012 #11 Share Posted January 21, 2012 SailAway911 - It is all the way forward. Not sure if there is a door on every deck, but on the Dream & the Victory it was beside our cabin on Deck 9, Room 9206. The Magic appears about the same size as the Dream so I would check Deck 9. Starlight Durban Cruising Posted January 21, 2012 #13 Share Posted January 21, 2012 View from the deck outside the secret door on Deck 9 of the Dream OMG, that's just about the same view we had on Deck 7 on Splendor. I now can't wait for my next cruise when looking at that photo.
