C at Sea Posted January 22, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 22, 2012 First time on Azura on Feb 17th. Was just wondering - a) Is there a free icecream place? Had this facility on a Princess cruise we went on and it was great. In the past the ice-cream "trolley" has come round on deck and you could purchase ice-creams, but wondered if it had changed on the new ship. When we first started cruising back in 1995, ice cream was dished out free on deck at 11am everyday! b) What is the current charge for specialist restaurants on Azura. Hope to book Sindus when we board. Hope there are good veggie options there, though I do eat fish, so I can have a choice. Thanks for any replies! I am presently on my pre-cruise diet so as you can see, am becoming food obsessed!!
BrianI Posted January 22, 2012 #2 Share Posted January 22, 2012 P&O used to offer free ice cream around 11am but not widely publicised. Think its still available. Keep your eyes open! The specialist dining venue costs depend on the length of your cruise. kevinyork Posted January 22, 2012 #3 Share Posted January 22, 2012 My partner is a veggie and we tried Sindhu when on Azura. We were dissapointed. Vegetarians normally have lots of choice in Indian restaurants but there is just one starter and one main on each of menu A and B which is suitable for Vegetarians. The dishes my partner had were uninspiring and therefore dissapointing. They also brought free appetisers but these had meat in. Whilst my partner eats fish too, the sauces and accompanyments are not gauranteed meat free. There are no deserts gauranteed to be Veggie and when we asked they clearly didnt understand what it meant to be Vegetarian eg no animal gelatine. They offered to get some ice cream from the main dining room which sort of defeats the object of paying for a special meal.
C at Sea Posted January 24, 2012 Author #4 Share Posted January 24, 2012 Thanks for the help. Oh dear, bit disappointed about Sindu. Thought if we would get a good veggie meal anywhere it would be at an Indian venue! Sounds like it wouldn't be worth paying the extra, so thanks for that info. LibraLass41 Posted January 24, 2012 #5 Share Posted January 24, 2012 C, before you make that decision go along to Sindu on embarkation afternoon and check the TWO menus, which alternate every 4 days or so there may well be something you fancy on the menu you fancy!:)
C at Sea Posted January 24, 2012 Author #6 Share Posted January 24, 2012 Thanks, think will probably do that. Had look at some sample menus from the link above and they didn't look too bad! Tbh, Indian food is always good on P&O in the mdrs too.
