Have a large crowd wanting to go to St John in May on Allure of the Seas, we are nervous due to the amount of time it takes from the port to St John and back. Can you tell me approximately how long it would take from the port assuming Allure docks in Crown Bay to St. John and would you advise to do this on our own or through the ship? Don't want to ruin our day by worrying we could miss the ship on the way back. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Obviously I'm not Anne :rolleyes: but it is very easy getting to St John on your own from Crown Bay. Since there is a large group, you won't have to wait for a cab to fill up or make stops along the way. The ferry runs every hour on the hour over from Red Hook and every hour on the half hour coming back. It should take about 30-45 minutes to get to Red Hook, but maybe closer to an hour getting back- commuter traffic- The ferry takes about 15-20 minutes, costs $7pp. Once in St John, you can find tour operators that will give you a 2-3 hour island tour for $25pp. If you have particlular sights you want to see or a beach stop- that should be no problem since you'll have the entire taxi to yourselves- as long as you all can agree :D
