timandjennifer Posted January 26, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 26, 2012 Hubby and I just returned today from our cruise. We went to Nassau on Sunday. took the #10 Jitney for 1.25 pp to the Sheraton- where we paid 25.00 pp for their day pass. The beach was gorgeous- water was a little chilly, but it didn't kill us. lol. Hotel is really nice. I was a bit irritated at the amount of locals approaching us on the beach at the hotel though wanting us to look through their things they were selling- we were approached no less than 10 times in a few hours. It was ridiculous. They wanted to sell sarongs, tee shirts, necklaces, bracelets, cuban cigars- you name it, they were selling it. Also a little disappointed that the guy running the little stand where you get your snorkeling stuff and such said we could only use it for 30 minutes- he wasn't very friendly. But, overall- we would go again- the beach was nice and big, had a great view- the chairs and umbrellas were great and the drinks were really good...though make sure you have plenty of money- they are not cheap on their food and drinks! It was very easy to catch the #10 back to port and we would do it again next time!
Transatlantic Dvoika Posted January 26, 2012 #2 Share Posted January 26, 2012 A 30 minute time limit - What's up with that ? Maybe he was fishing for more of what makes the world go 'round? Nice report. We almost did this exact routine but trying to get 14 people organized proved to be too ambitious. Thanks for the information! We almost did this exact routine but trying to get 14 people organized proved to be too ambitious. Thanks for the information! The FREE gear is for ALL the guests of the hotel, so they have to limit the time each person is allowed to accomodate. In the past, it was not limited, but people didn't return their gear until the end of the day and noone else got a chance to use it. Since it's only a small area of rocks to explore.. 30 minutes is all you need.
Zoedokey Posted January 26, 2012 #4 Share Posted January 26, 2012 The vendors sound really annoying. Do they hang out at the Hilton also?
GTO-Girl Posted January 26, 2012 #5 Share Posted January 26, 2012 The vendors sound really annoying. Do they hang out at the Hilton also? the security guard at the Hilton said only guests of the hotel and people with day passes are allowed on their beach. scubagirrl Posted January 26, 2012 #6 Share Posted January 26, 2012 The vendors sound really annoying. Do they hang out at the Hilton also? No.. the Hilton beach is NOT open to the public.. these is not entry point without going thru the lobby.. therefore.. no vendors.
