Bloopmnstr Posted January 26, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 26, 2012 Hey everyone. I'm planning a cruise with my family for September 2012 and can't decide which ship would be better (if there even IS a better one). I know Destiny is a little newer than Ecstasy, but is there much of a difference at all? The ports and itineraries don't matter much to us. I've sailed with carnival a few times, but my younger siblings have not. I want this the be their best trip ever. So I guess my question is this, does one ship have more to offer than the other in regards to the rooms, food, kid's clubs ect? Oh, by the way, my younger brothers are 15 and 17. Thanks! darth frosty Posted January 27, 2012 #2 Share Posted January 27, 2012 I loved the destiny! it offers a lil more than ecstasy, while ecstasy has a serenity deck destiny doesn't. If you choose destiny just remember the galley is in the middle of deck 3! so if you are at the front and need to go to the dinning room at the rear you have to go up to deck 5 walk to the back and than go down to deck 3. gtalum Posted January 27, 2012 #3 Share Posted January 27, 2012 Destiny is bigger and has more balconies. Ecstasy will be less crowded.

JeffHatfield Posted January 27, 2012 #5 Share Posted January 27, 2012 Personally I like the Fantasy class much better than the Destiny.

sugaangel601 Posted January 29, 2012 #9 Share Posted January 29, 2012 Personally I like the Fantasy class much better than the Destiny. Agreed. I havent sailed the Ecstasy, but sailed both Fantasy and Destiny. Both were great, but I think that everyone who sailed with us on both voyages seemed to prefer the Fantasy class. It just seemed to be easier to get around. I liked the layout of the lido better. Regardless, you cant go wrong. Both ships were great, and afterall, you'll be on a cruise! :)
lukeduke07 Posted February 8, 2012 #10 Share Posted February 8, 2012 Just got off the Destiny last week and all of my other carnival cruised were on fantasy class ships. Destiny was too crowded and the stadium seating on the lido was a pain. Will try a spirit class next as most people like them better.
KroozFoolz Posted February 8, 2012 #11 Share Posted February 8, 2012 You stated ports and itineraries don't matter to you, but another consideration for me would the difference (cost, travel time, convenience) in getting to and leaving from Miami vs Port Canaveral. For me, Port Canaveral wins that one. YMMV.

I am looking to book on Destiny on 10/25- Can you tell me if you sailed this ship before what is it like as far as crowds for the shows and food lines? Is it very crowded all the time? I have read that a lot of people say it has a confusing layout and very crowded ship. Thanks
