Skansen

Bump.

We want to do all 3 but realize with our short port time, it won't be possible (8-3). The reason we are leaning toward doing only Vasa and Skansen it because they are very close together and it seems that trying to get to Gamla Stan would eat up too much of the precious time. Maybe someone can comment of the travel time between them.

With only one full day in Stockholm should we skip Skansen? It sounded interesting but Vasa and Gamla Stan are higher priorities for us.

Do not know the dates you are planning to visit the Vasa Museum... please be aware of their operating hours after May 31st.

Opening hours

Hi

I have now visited Stockholm twice. On the second visit we went to Skansen. It is a very big site with lots on interesting things to see. You would be hard pushed to see all the best bits in anything less than half a day. Having said that if you only have one day there Skansen would not be on my list. The Vasa is a must and its only a 30 minute walk to Gamla Stan or a sort bus ride or even the water bus which will give you a nice tour of the harbour. There’s lots to see in Gamla Stan, the Palace with the changing of the guard the church and all the old streets and shops.

Nick
