pappy3393 Posted January 29, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 29, 2012 With only one full day in Stockholm should we skip Skansen? It sounded interesting but Vasa and Gamla Stan are higher priorities for us
World Gallery Posted January 30, 2012 #2 Share Posted January 30, 2012 Bump. We want to do all 3 but realize with our short port time, it won't be possible (8-3). The reason we are leaning toward doing only Vasa and Skansen it because they are very close together and it seems that trying to get to Gamla Stan would eat up too much of the precious time. Maybe someone can comment of the travel time between them.

Gremlin1 Posted January 30, 2012 #4 Share Posted January 30, 2012 Hi I have now visited Stockholm twice. On the second visit we went to Skansen. It is a very big site with lots on interesting things to see. You would be hard pushed to see all the best bits in anything less than half a day. Having said that if you only have one day there Skansen would not be on my list. The Vasa is a must and its only a 30 minute walk to Gamla Stan or a sort bus ride or even the water bus which will give you a nice tour of the harbour. There’s lots to see in Gamla Stan, the Palace with the changing of the guard the church and all the old streets and shops. Nick
pappy3393 Posted January 30, 2012 Author #5 Share Posted January 30, 2012 Thank you. You've convinced me to skip Skansen this trip. It's better to spend quality time at a couple of places vs. rushing and seeing a lot of things and not be able to fully appreciate what you are seeing.
