skydog802 Posted February 4, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 4, 2012 I'm wondering if anyone has used some mobile apps, more specifically for the iPhone to help manage their cruise experience. I have a couple of apps called Ship Mate and Cruise Finder, and would love to know if there are others. I'm sailing for the first time this April on the Miracle and I would like to keep an on-going journal to keep track of my trip and activities, as well as have a useful tool to help me find locations on the ship, etc. Thanks. MickCruiser Posted February 4, 2012 #2 Share Posted February 4, 2012 Tapatalk. It doesn't assist with cruises, per se....but it does make using this forum easier.

gail811 Posted February 4, 2012 #4 Share Posted February 4, 2012 Ship mate is my favorite at the moment! I also use Tripit to keep up with reservations and such.

ItsAllAboutTheSass Posted February 4, 2012 #6 Share Posted February 4, 2012 While not cruise related, I use GateGuru for airport reference.

I have Tapatalk and use it from time to time but that app helps to keep track of this forum. I won't be using it while on-board due to the high roaming charges. ItsAllAboutTheSass Posted February 4, 2012 #8 Share Posted February 4, 2012 I use Cruise Card to track expenses on board. So do you carry your phone/tablet around and enter expenses as you incur them?

I've used TripIt for air travels, hotels, etc. Pretty neat app.
skydog802 Posted February 4, 2012 Author #10 Share Posted February 4, 2012 I use Cruise Card to track expenses on board. I did see this app and was curious if it worked well. The reviews weren't great and I hesitated. How do you like it?

KC_Cruiser_1 Posted February 4, 2012 #16 Share Posted February 4, 2012 On Cruise Card, I can set my budget, then once or twice a day, I'll enter my expenditures. Then it is easy to compare to what carnival says in on my S&S card.

Pobman Posted February 4, 2012 #19 Share Posted February 4, 2012 If you also have an Android device Ship Mate seems to be free for them... I have it on my iPhone, its 'ok' ... however it does not have all the bits of cruise I am on, rather it lists a cruise that does not exist for some parts... which is a bit of a shame... HUBison2008 Posted February 4, 2012 #21 Share Posted February 4, 2012 I'm assuming everyone uses these apps pre-cruise is that right?
Ehpride Posted February 4, 2012 #22 Share Posted February 4, 2012 I could use this during the cruise on my ipod touch for the deck plans and budget tracker. But I doubt that I will because my phone and ipod go immediately into the safe. I paid 1.99 for it and my mom got it for free.

Mary Ellen Posted February 4, 2012 #24 Share Posted February 4, 2012 From something I posted recently on another thread: I have Ship Mate for HAL and I can't recommend it to any one. First, I'm not a fan of iPhone only apps on my iPad, but I decided to give it a try anyway. The itinerary was wrong for my recent cruise, so I'd written it off as worthless. After reading here that it had again been recommended, and since there was a recent update, I checked on our next cruise. Again the itinerary is wrong. When they can't get published information correct, why should I believe anything there?
shelly11 Posted February 4, 2012 #25 Share Posted February 4, 2012 Does shipmate work on board without using internet? I was hoping my child could use the deck maps to get around. (me too)
