Shopping at Belize

Northern rose

Yes, local vendors and local stores in the area. I saved buying gifts and alcohol leaving the tourism village area. Great people too! Had a blast chatting with them, very friendly and helpful.

Along with Roatan, Belize is a place I want to go back to...maybe the countryside or cayes away from Belize City next time. Though I thought Belize City was fun, vibrant and cultural.

Actually there is a VERY good place for handicrafts in Belize. At least it was there about 5 years ago.

The National Handicraft Center is a good place for gifts - bring lots of money you will likely see something you want :D I ended up bring a chair back. The chair is the second one on page two of this link - http://www.belizegifts.com/ - and it was much cheaper at the store though prices may have changed. We had no problems bringing it on the ship and driving it home.

You may want to check out some travel guides about Belize, I originally found the handicraft center and various art studios in such a guide. Take care and good luck!
