bayclub Posted February 10, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 10, 2012 :(First time on NCL - Epic. Chose this Ship because of the Nickoleum theme and a very special birthday. Our five grandchildren 3-10 were very disappointed. The only time they saw the characters were at a paid breakfast and picture taking. Camp for the very young was nothing to speak of.....:(The embarkment was very difficult for a handicap individual - waited 1-1/2 hr. for wheelchair assistance. Very difficult to navigate the narrow corridors with a wheelchair and/or carriage. Lack of elevators for such a large ship with over 4,000 passengers. Many times we had to take an elevator in the very front, go down to 6 and take another elevator to the main dinning room. The interiors were quite nice; the food buffet was very adequate but a serious lack of seating especially for carriages and wheelchair. Again, a lack of personnel to assist one. The entertainment that we paid for, Blue Man Group, Cirque, Legends were very nice; the others seem to be just okay. The specialty restaurants which required additional payment for children & adults, were not worth the extra monies. The room we had was designed for a handicapped individual; the other cabins we took were extremely tight! It seemed that NCL nickled & dimed whatever way they could; Gym classes: 8 am or 5:00 pm; anything in between we had to pay for! Sorry, but 3 out 5 is all I can give and that's pushing it.
