Cruise industry adopts new safety policy

Cruise lines are now required to conduct passenger safety drills before leaving port, under a rule announced by three cruise industry associations. Don't know if it would have made much difference though...:(

Considering the numbers on the Concordia that did make it out alive even without the drill, it probably wouldn't have. They unfortunately had a captain who was more interested in showboating than taking his job and the lives of 4000 others seriously.

RIP to all those who lost their lives in that tragedy.

It's probably a good idea to move the muster to before leaving anyway just because it makes sense. You want people to know where to go/what to do, but hope they never have to use that information.
