Carnival Valor?

The reviews I have read have not had any major negative things about the ship. Just that sometimes service in certain areas seems to be lacking, but from all of the reviews I have read about many ships in the fleet this seems to a system wide thing. But then that is in every day life, service can always be a hit or miss. I just booked a back to back on there for late June.

Sailed on the Valor 1/2012. Ship is in good condition just a little lacking in way of entertainment. Service was very good overall except our wait staff in the main dining room were very disorganized. You will have fun on any cruise as long as you want to.

We were on the Valor from 1/29-2/4. Great itinerary, clean ship, good food. I've read complaints about food and service on these boards, but we didn't run into any problems... service was top-notch, and the food was always delivered hot (or cold... as appropriate).

We did the galley tour on the last day, and the Maitre d' said that on their last US Public Health inspection, they scored a 98/100. The ship was quite clean... and every morning I was up early... watching them clean the deck and the windows and the trash cans, etc.

Enjoy.

i just returned this yesterday and loved the Valor. The decor is American classic hero's, e.g Washington, Lincoln etc, and it is not overly done. Great crew, pretty easy to get around. We were on the sister ship, Glory and it was the same layout.

I felt the food was better prepared on the Valor, hotter, steaks good etc. I loved the decor of the Casino, The Shogun,

I did notice the Serenity area was a lot busier than on the Glory, think more people were aware of it.

Getting on and off was a breeze, honestly could have been off the ship by 7:30 !!

We did have some extra and not wanted excitement as a passenger got ill and had to be air lifted off while we were heading towards Nassau. We got in late to Nassau a couple hours later, not Carnival's fault, but just to be nice they offered everyone a free drink with dinner which I thought was very nice.

Think you will like the ship, it is in good shape and very clean. Enjoy. Lydia of Ohio

We have sailed on the Valor several times and it is our favorite ship. We are two years removed from our last sailing. Just always a very nice experience in all areas. Consistently very good food and service. Many wonderful memories sailing with our six grown children.

Sure we cruise to "get away" but fond memories made are what keeps us coming back!

Was that the southern trip? We leave on Saturday, been looking for recent updates. We were on the Valor several years ago, and liked the ship

Hey, what did you think of the shows? The welcome aboard was a little different than the last time we were on the Dream (2 years) the second show we missed all but the last 20 minutes, we came in to the big couch talking, and the dancers were dressed as cow boys and girls, then a dancing cow danced by.

the next show was great, with the break dancers, both the break dancers and cow show were both new to us.

The magician was good also, "Fernando" the little boy in the late show, was our grandson.

We went on this also, thought it was good, and free made it even better.

I don't have any frame of reference for comparison, but we enjoyed the shows. The "Couch" show was the nightclub review show... it was good, but we liked the 80s review much better. The magician was good, but we went to the early shows, so we missed your grandson.

I'm pretty sure that we actually sat right near you at the Legends show, in the balcony, on the back-left of the theater... I didn't realize it until I read your review thread later and saw your pictures... but I'm pretty sure you were two couches over from us, with your traveling companions between us... until they decided to leave.

Yep, they gave up, did not want to wait, and thought the lower seats would be better.

We really liked the 80s show also.
