Watching Oasis leave Port Everglades

We are going on the Sunday, April 22nd voyage of Allure. When we have left on cruises from Miami we have been able to go to watch the ships leave and also eat dinner at a restaurant at the edge of Miami Beach.

We are wondering if anyone is aware of any restaurants/bars, etc in Ft. Lauderdale where we may go to watch the cruise ships leave on the Saturday before our Sunday departure. We always enjoy watching the ships leave, knowing that we will be on a ship the very next day.

Not sure of a restaurant but we stayed at the Hilton Marina and we were able to watch the ships arrive in the wee hours of the morning. We were not able to watch them leave because we were on Oasis. Ask for a room in the tower with a view of Port Everglades. We were on floor 12.

Best place to go is JOHN LLOYD PARK to see all the ships leave..there is a $6 car charge and drive all the way to the last jetty on the right...get there by 3:30 as the ships start leaving at 4 with the Carnival Freedom also the Constellation, Crown Princess, and the Oasis.....nice beach there,too...I've gone 30-40 times during the last 2 years as I live 30 min away...great way to spend 2-3 hours!! Sorry, no food or drinks except machines...but you can bring a cooler ( buy cheap one at Publix) and bring it down....
