Cambria Suites FLL - What to do nearby?

PR Cruisers

We stayed here post cruise about a year ago and unless I had a car I would not stay here again. The hotel is very nice, however without a car you are really isolated. Oakwood Plaza is a large outdoor shopping center with several shops and restaurants. It is about a mile away but we were told by the staff not to walk there in the evening. It is a very busy traffic area and also requires walking under I-95. I read on another post here that a cab to the beach area cost them $50 round trip. You wont have access to the water taxi or sun trolley either. The hotel does have free shuttle from the airport and to the port. Not sure if they would take you to Oakwood Plaza or other restaurants nearby. Again, the hotel itself is relatively new and the rooms and lobby area are nice. It also has a nice pool area.
