Coastal Cruise to St. John or ½ day Champagne Catamaran to Honeymoon Beach?

Seniors, first time in St. Thomas, sailing on Solstice in April - 6 ships in port on arrival (18000 people). Would love to go to St. John and hesitate between 2 excursions being offered by Celebrity. We are considering the St. John Coastal Cruise which leaves by tour boat from pier at 9:30 am, allowing approx. 3 ½ hrs on our own in St. John (would taxi to either Trunk or Cinnamon Bay ) but no time to visit St. John as tour boat returns to ship around 4 pm. The other option is the ½ day Champagne Catamaran Sail & Snorkel to Honeymoon Beach St. John which leaves from marina at 8:30 am; this tour has excellent review and while we do not snorkel, would spend approx. 90 minutes on what appears to be a lovely quiet beach, enjoying a small luncheon and champagne on our return and then spend some time in St. Thomas for a bit of shopping in the afternoon. If you have done one of those tours, your advice would be much appreciated.:) Thanks.

We did the 1/2 day catamaran sail in December on Royal Caribbean and enjoyed it enough to book it again on Princess last week. We don't snorkel either but it's a nice boat ride with bread, cheese and fruit to eat and champagne, punch and beer to drink on the way back. You can swim to the beach or the crew will shuttle you there on a small inflatable dinghy. The crews on both excursions were a lot of fun.

This is a stupid question but, when I was reading the description of this cruise I noticed it said that you have to be able to go down 6 steps through a hatch to get to the limited rest room. What is that all about? Was it a problem? I usually don't need one, BUT you never know.

Lots of questions  Do they only serve champagne, punch and beer or do they make mixed drinks too?
