Rare BigCheese1 Posted February 18, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 18, 2012 Going on an NCL cruise late March - fab! Trying NOT to go to the expense of parking at the port, have seen a couple of company's NOT recommended by the forum members. Have come across 241 Services Inc, the price is good and it says (quote) "You park so close to the port you can see your ship and less than half a mile from the port! Big savings over port parking garage prices! Free shuttle to and from the terminal. Upon booking you will receive the easy directions to the secure, gated and lighted parking facility. No extra charge for full size cars, vans or large SUV's. 241 Services' shuttle runs its short round trips from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m." Sounds good - but has anyone used them? Would really appreciate your comments. Thanks
med9114u Posted February 19, 2012 #2 Share Posted February 19, 2012 From what I have learned from talking to friends that cruise out of Tampa a lot...just pay and park at the port. Unfortunately it is more expensive, but there are really no credible off site places there. You will soon see good reviews from places like Premier parking, but be warned that it is THEM placing the good reviews on here. If you notice they will only have 1 post of CC... Rare BigCheese1 Posted February 20, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted February 20, 2012 Thanks for that, med9114u Yes Premier was the one I was definitely NOT going to use. But I have seen good reviews for "Memorial Park and Fly" but it seems to be a few miles from the port. This 241 Services seems to be so close, Husband too mean to pay on-port parking! Anyone have any comments on Memorial, then? Thanks
med9114u Posted February 21, 2012 #4 Share Posted February 21, 2012 I have a travel agent friend that lives near by and cruises a lot. I asked him and he said that he has yet to find a decent off port parking area in Tampa. Paying $15 a day sucks, but it is worth it I think. Robthorn Posted May 1, 2012 #5 Share Posted May 1, 2012 We just had some friends come back from a cruise in Tampa and they said they were pleased with Capitol parking. They said the guy gave them his phone number for when they returned and they called him and he was there in a short period of time. I do see the reviews say it's a 6ft wooden fence surrounding it and that it is a dusty lot. After 11 cruises I don't think I have come back to a clean car yet. I am going to give them a try I think. RedbirdFL Posted May 14, 2012 #6 Share Posted May 14, 2012 We used Capital parking for our cruise last week and were very pleased with them. It is definitely a dusty gravel lot, but it's in an upscale neighborhood, just a few blocks from the port. I used the code Cruise4 and got one day's parking free. The guy who dropped us off at the port on embarkation day was almost at the port in the van when we arrived at the designated meeting spot on debarkation day. We waited maybe 2 minutes on him. I would recommend Capital to anyone looking for less expensive parking than the cruise port garage and would use them again if we sail out of Tampa. rwilk1129 Posted May 18, 2012 #7 Share Posted May 18, 2012 We used Premier twice this winter in Tampa and were very pleased with them. We will definitely use them again too
golfer519 Posted January 21, 2013 #8 Share Posted January 21, 2013 We have used 241 twice in Tampa. Their service is very good. It is just a short ride to the ship and they come very quick on the return. We will continue to use them for future cruises. Your car does get dusty but the price is good compared to the city parking.
HOTTUB_JOHNNY Posted January 23, 2013 #9 Share Posted January 23, 2013 We just used 241 Parking on our Carnival Cruise Jan. 17-21st. We paid $41. The credit card machine was not working when we arrived on the 17th, and they "left it at home" on the 21st. I think that was a bunch of BS...they want cash. They suggested I walk across the street to the BP and use my ATM card to withdraw the money and they would deduct the $2 ATM fee. I took $40 out of my wallet and made them give me the $1 and paid $39. They charge more for the longer cruises, you can call them and find out. Pick up was fast and convenient and it is only a couple of blocks from the port.
SkyMaster Posted September 23, 2013 #10 Share Posted September 23, 2013 I've used 241 three times, and had very good service all three times. You can literally see the ship from their lot, and it's easy to find. I've always paid "on line" before arriving at the lot, and never had a problem. Shuttle service is excellent as well, and the van has been waiting for me all three trips. couldn't ask for anything more. I've paid $7.99 per day, compared to $15 per day, plus an EXTRA day at the port parking. No problems! "SKY"
egalfanatic Posted October 26, 2014 #11 Share Posted October 26, 2014 we have used 241 car services out of Tampa for parking and have never had any problems in fact we are going to use them again this year when we go in Dec. They give you a ticket with their phone number on it and when you return to port just call them and within 5 minutes they have a driver there to meet you and take you to your car. priam3 Posted December 20, 2014 #12 Share Posted December 20, 2014 Used 241 car service for our 5 day cruise out of Tampa on RC Brilliance of the Seas. Service was great! The Driver, Roddy, was very friendly and helpful. He was prompt as well. We had no issues at all. Would use this company again and would recommend. Justadude Posted November 11, 2016 #13 Share Posted November 11, 2016 There are about a dozen street parking spaces along a small section of E 5th Ave in Ybor City without any posted time or residency restrictions (Nov 2016). The spaces are super convenient to the street car which you can take all the way to the port for $2.50 a person. Plug 1220 E 5th Ave 33605 into your GPS/phone to find the location. These spots are between N 13th St & Nuccio Parkway. Once you've parked, walk 2 blocks north to the Cadrecha Plaza Station #4 to catch the street car. You can check the hours below, but are friendly for cruise schedules in my opionion. http://www.tecolinestreetcar.org/about/hours/index.htm Cheers!
