Carnival Ecstasy or Fascination

I am looking at doing a cruise in May. Both ships go to Freeport, Nassau, and Half Moon Cay on the dates I am looking at.

 

Which ship do you prefer and why?

I have sailed both Fascination and Ecstasy and am in the midst of posting photos from the Ecstasy here (see links below for reviews!).

 

I think you can't go wrong either way. Both are similar ships and my wife and I have had fun times on both.

Seeing as you are closer to Jax I would suggest the Fascination. (unless the Ectasy is cheaper, enough to cover the extra gas cost)

 

It is sort of neat to go out under the bridge and past the naval air station from Jax.

 

I used a place near the Jax airport for parking that was only $5 per day and they gave great service.

Thanks for the advice. I have sailed on the Fascination before. I was leaning towards the Ecstasy since I have not done it before. However, it is more expensive than Fascination.

 

I am stuck between going on the boat I have been on before for cheaper or going on a new boat for me for a little bit more money:o

sailed both, and they are clones of one another, but i like the ecstasy better, for the decor. it was wilder!

Ecstasy has a great cruise director. Has a show Extreme Country...not to be missed.

Out of curiosity, what is the total price differential? Are you paying double as a solo traveler?

 

There are many good offsite parking options for pt canaveral as well.

If you choose Ecstasy, you can take photos on the highest decks, and title them........wait for it..........High on Ecstasy!

It would be about $200 difference for a 5 day for 2 people

DW and I liked the crew and the decor on the Ecstasy better, but $200.00 is a lot of DOD's!

Freeport is very industrial, just a small shopping area. Last time there, took a cab, $5, went to a large shopping area called Lucaya. Across the street is a large casino. There are other areas others can tell you about.

Have you checked Ecstasy's other itineraries? I'm not a beach person, so I go to the Key West itinerary.

I believe that it does 1 Key West cruise, however I am a beach person lol. I also have done Key West a lot lately and the bf hasn't done 2 of the ports on this one.

We did the Paradise Cove trip in Freeport as we're not big on shopping. We snorkeled while there on a beach that had maybe 40 people at most that day. Friendly people, amazing beach, great fun! Have a great cruise!

I was recently on both ships for 10 days and the food, service & entertainment was much better on Fascination.
