must2cruz Posted February 19, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 19, 2012 If you are looking for a great place to stay outside of New Orleans this is it. Good rates, new building, very comfortable beds, very clean, friendly staff and a nice included breakfast. We just stayed there last week before our cruise. :)
ABQmom Posted March 2, 2012 #2 Share Posted March 2, 2012 What kind of rate did you get...just curious? How long is the drive to the cruise terminal form the hotel? Thanks :)
World Gallery Posted March 13, 2012 #3 Share Posted March 13, 2012 Glad you got a good rate but I am a local and can't imagine staying in Hammond pre-cruise. There has to be other options closer than Hammond. I would only use Hammond as an absolute last resort. Mandeville/Covington is about 20 minutes closer than Hammond and a much nicer area. You could probably get just as good of a deal but again, only use the Northshore of New Orleans if absolutely necessary.
must2cruz Posted March 14, 2012 Author #4 Share Posted March 14, 2012 We got an 80.00 AARP rate. We chose to stay there due to the long drive we had to get to LA. We live in central IL and could not leave until 8am the day before the cruise. We also wanted to drive across the causeway before we got to the port.....in the daytime to enjoy it. It was on a Sat so we knew the traffic would be okay. Our cruise left just before Mardi Gras so the hotel rates in New Orleans were really high. This hotel worked very well for us and we will do the same if we drive to NOLA again for a cruise. The motel is very clean, has great beds for a good nights sleep, has very friendly staff and a nice breakfast to start the day.:)
