Help....booking question

I have a cruise booked on the Glory in June...a 4 day to Canada out of Boston. I booked it a at the beginning of the year. Here is the question: I have an aft room with extended balcony and have made two payments on the trip. The balance is due in April. I have a health issue that is going to impact my trip to some extent...not badly but knowing that the aft rooms are a ways from elevators, can I re-book a mid-ship cabin closer to elevators? Should I cancel the whole trip and then just re-book. I did the original trip through the Carnival website and am still within the time frame to cancel without penalty. Or can I just call Carnival and have them do it. I would actually be downgrading and am not sure how this works. Thanks for your help!

If you booked early saver they will not let you downgrade. I would suggest calling Carnival and letting them know of your situation and see what they think the best course of action would be. Who knows maybe they'll be feeling generous and upgrade you to a jr.suite near the elevators.:p

I booked past guest rate. Should I call them or just cancel and re-book?

Nope!! Don't cancel....because you want to preserve your "past guest" rate - which may or may not be avaialble now, depending on your sail date.

Just call your PVP, CVS, TA or the 1-800-Carnival number and they will just transfer your booking to another room.

Your aft cabin will be close to the elevators down for the MDR and aft lounges or up for the Lido buffet. You will have further to go for the casino, shopping, and going ashore. Plus the entire length of the ship between you and the show room.

If you want to move depends on how bad you expect your mobility to be and which locations are important to you.
