Me too...leaving on the 15th..the actual date. Just booked the cruise a couple of weeks ago and didn't even know it til I read it here on these boards...thanks for the "shakeup" everyone! LOL..just kiddin:D.

 

I'm not worried about any iceburgs in the Carribbean...I'm more worried about any "Schettino's" steering the ship!:eek:

I know!! I booked an Easter cruise and we will be sailing just before the anniversary! Oh well.....no icebergs in the Caribbean!:rolleyes:

Today DH and I went to a movie and saw a preview of the Titanic 3D that will probably be out during the anniversary week. I must say it was pretty creepy seeing that so large on the movie screen and then I realized that the cruise I booked 3 days ago leaves on April 13th, yes, we are sailing during that time, too. Gave me chills.

We set sail on April 13 also, but will be sailing the Pacific not the Atlantic.

 

 

One cruiseline is actually doing a Titanic Memorial Cruise. It will leave out of NY on April 10th, the date Titanic left Southhampton, and will hold a memorial service right over the spot that Titanic sank. It is so popular they have sold out 1 ship, and are starting to fill another. Now, I love every movie, have read many books, toured exhibits, and am fascinated by anything Titanic. But I will definately pass on that particular cruise.

We will be sailing that date as well. I had no idea about it until a fellow member on this board mentioned it in our roll call. It sort of an eary feeling but I'm sure we'll be fine! :)

And, to add to the angst, CCL is the ,now, parent company that owns the White Star Line, which the Titanic was part of!:p

I booked my cruise like the day before the Concordia incident and then I found out I will be sailing during the Titanic Anniversary, how many bad signs do i need before i change my mind about this?
