Chance's Mom Posted February 25, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 25, 2012 We will be in Barbados for the first time in April. We would really like to do the turtle swim and were wondering about doing Harrison's Cave as well. The Harrison Cave website does not look very impressive. It seems to show more about the "out of cave" activities more than the cave itself. Is it worth it to schedule the cave in our plans? Thanks! Also, which would be better, the tram tour or the walking tour?

Also' date=' which would be better, the tram tour or the walking tour?[/quote'] We did enjoy very much our visit to the Cave last December (2011). The tram ride was bit wet and exciting and due to previous weather conditions, we were not able to use the trails for the 'walking tour,' so can't comment on that part. However, everything looked clean, modern and safe: Bridgetown: Bus ride to Harrison's Cave from Princess Alice Bus Terminal (Monday morning 12.26.2011) Photos: http://2011holidaycruisecaribbeansummit.shutterfly.com/pictures/4629 Cave Interpretation Centre & grounds - Harrison's Cave, Barbados (Monday 12.26.2011) Photos: http://2011holidaycruisecaribbeansummit.shutterfly.com/pictures/4811 Video: or http://2011holidaycruisecaribbeansummit.shutterfly.com/videos/32 Tram ride inside the cave system at Harrison's Cave, Barbados (Monday 12.26.2011) Photos: http://2011holidaycruisecaribbeansummit.shutterfly.com/pictures/4974 Video: or http://2011holidaycruisecaribbeansummit.shutterfly.com/videos/
warmwatersailor Posted February 28, 2012 #3 Share Posted February 28, 2012 The cave is absolutely beautiful, one of my favourite places on the island.
lvcruzers Posted March 4, 2012 #4 Share Posted March 4, 2012 We have done this in the past & it was wonderful. We did a tour from the ship that was a 4X4 & Harrison Cave tour. We are taking our grandkids & are looking for a similar tour but not thru the cruiseline. Anyone have any ideas? Back to your inquiry.....It is beautiful. It was the largest caves I have ever seen. There is a small pool of water & a small waterfall in the caves. The lighting enhances the beauty. I wasn't that thrilled with caves but my hubby wanted to go & I am so glad we did. It was the highlight of our tour.
cruisingbajan Posted March 6, 2012 #5 Share Posted March 6, 2012 It is DEFINITELY worth the visit. There is nothing else that comes close to it...but I may be biased;):D. Seriously though...I think it maybe one of the few if not the only cave of its kind in the world.
psbfan01 Posted March 9, 2012 #6 Share Posted March 9, 2012 Bridgetown: Bus ride to Harrison's Cave from Princess Alice Bus Terminal (Monday morning 12.26.2011) We want to catch a bus to Harrisons Cave first thing on a Monday morning when we're on Summit too... Tell me please, daliflor, how did you get back to Bridgetown? Another bus or a taxi?
aimodels Posted March 9, 2012 #7 Share Posted March 9, 2012 No problem taking the bus from Harrison's back to Princess Alice Terminal in B'Town. IIRC, they run about every 15-20 minutes or so? There's about a 5-10 minute walk from the caves to the bus stop. Cheers, P:)

Tell me please, daliflor, how did you get back to Bridgetown? Another bus or a taxi? We actually just missed the 12ish bus back to Town and the next bus wasn't coming 'til around 3pm... so we took a cab - shorter ride back into Bridgetown. Tugboatbob Posted March 15, 2012 #9 Share Posted March 15, 2012 Do not miss a visit to the Harrison Caves, they are amazing. A group of us were there last month ( Feb 2012 ) and all agreed it was worth every penny ( $30 ).
