I have posted pics of both ships in dry dock and am planning, either today or tomrrow, to get over there to take some more. Sky (POA) is still in dry dock but Star is in the water and all painted.

Drat!!

 

I haev my camera here at work and was planning on getting some fresh shot once the sky clears here.

 

As the ferry was coming across the Bay I saw STAR moving in the oppostire direct. We wound up passing with about 300 yards between us. I guess she's off to shake down her repairs. I have informationthat she is not due to move up North until tomorrow so I hope she's not elaving early, I may still have a chance to get a shot.

 

I have been no fan of hull art, but this ship looks fabulous! She has a wonderful profile, is sleek and attractive. Her size is understated unlike some of the giants that seem to tower out of the water.

 

I hope to get you a nice shot yet of her yet!

I just checked her bridge cam and she's somewhere in a fogbank. I tend to think you're probably right about the sea trials today.

Did anyone watch the Giants baseball game last night. At one point when they were coming back from commercial, they showed the Star and POA. They looked really good.

What happened to the Sky/Aloha Bridgecam! It is off of the NCL site. It was always fun to look and see San Fran. The Sky, of course, is also no longer listed on the list of NCL ships. Of course, we knew that would happen when her named changed, but I thought at least they would keep the bridge cam up and just change the name to Pride of Aloha. Help.....

All the NCL ships webcams are stuck on the 29th. The webmaster must be taking a long weekend.

My daughter and I will be doing a 4 night California coastal cruise on the POA before she takes off to Hawaii. It will be a "familiarization" cruise for me. I can't wait - I've never visited any of the CA cities except just flying in and out....

I am going on the Aloha on Friday 6/18 for a lunch/tour before the ship leaves for Hawaii. I will post more pictures, but hopefully someone who is on a California coastal cruise will have something to share before then.

Thanks, the ship looks great. What a great ship it would have been to combine a 4 day cruise and a weeks land vacation in HI.

 

Too bad the plans of NCL and so many cruisers got upset by a little wind. In the end this ship is going to delight a lot of folks as she does the 7 day cruises originally planned of the Pride of America.
