Goldiedog Posted February 25, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 25, 2012 We will be on the Celebrity Eclipse in June on the Baltic cruise, while the ship is in port in St Petersburg for two days what will be closed, casinos, shops, bars etc.
CRUZBUDS Posted February 25, 2012 #2 Share Posted February 25, 2012 I can't speak specifically to the Baltic, but all cruises we've been, on the shops and casinos have always been closed in port. Everything else is business as usual.
DebbieMacG Posted February 26, 2012 #3 Share Posted February 26, 2012 We were on the Eclipse on a Baltics cruise. I can confirm that the shops and casino are closed during the overnight stay in St Petersburg. It's a great itinerary, have a lovely cruise :)
FrankinPA Posted February 26, 2012 #4 Share Posted February 26, 2012 Usually on port days, the MDR is closed for lunch.
shelbyz Posted February 26, 2012 #5 Share Posted February 26, 2012 I'm not sure if you're asking because you're staying on the ship while in St. Petersburg. If you are, I hope you'll reconsider. Our experience there was wonderful and a tiny glimpse into a country that we would never have seen otherwise.

USVI-4-me Posted February 26, 2012 #7 Share Posted February 26, 2012 No we won't be staying on board, we have booked a 2 day tour. The "Special Features" portion of the movie "Russian Ark" will take you on a splendid tour and give you a pre-cruise introduction to St. Petersburg. I recommend the movie too. It is a tour of the Hermitage -- a bit slow but wonderful. Congratulations on booking your cruise. You'll have a great time. I wish I could go along.
