NCL Dawn March 7, 11days, looking for advice

Bow City Cruiser

Recommended Posts

Hi, first time to these ports, Samana, St Kitts, St Martin, Dominica, Barbados, St Lucia... what is worth taking an excursion, and what should I avoid. Are the ships excursions the best or is there local excursions that offer the same thing? Is there anyone else leaving at that time? We are cruising with another couple from our city and would love to make new friends...

rsvp...

Here's our review of the Dawn 10 day back in January, including what we did in each port.....

Lots of pictures and details.

Head over to the Roll Call section to see who else from CC will be on your cruise.

Looks like an active Roll Call.

And... Welcome to Cruise Critic.

We are also on this cruise. As Groo suggested, come join our roll call for the cruise. There is a meet & greet set up, which is a great way to meet people on the ship.

We did that cruise last October, only booked one excursion in advance. Most of the other ports we just walked off the ship and took a local tour. We never paid more than $30pp for a 1.5 - 3 hour tour. We didn't get off the ship in Samana. In Barbados we had a cab for the whole day, cost us $50.

We just returned from the same cruise Sunday, and had a great time. As suggested join your roll call its a great way to meet new people and many times they have excursions they are looking for others to join.

I had prebooked all our excursions I wanted to do, other ports like Antiqua and St Martin we just did beach days. Our favorite was Tortola if you can get to JVD I highly recommend it, it was one the highlights of our trip
