sbfanatic Posted February 28, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 28, 2012 Can anyone give me hotel suggestions for a 1 to 3 day pre cruise stay for a small group in San Juan January 31, 2013 to February 3, 2013? Some will stay 3 days others 1 day. Looking for a nice, clean, reasonably priced hotel.
aimodels Posted February 29, 2012 #2 Share Posted February 29, 2012 We use the Sheraton in Old San Juan, but it can get pricey. A friend recommended Hotel Milano in OSJ - a small, family run place... Nothing fancy, but clean and reasonable. Cheers, P:)

marys350 Posted March 11, 2012 #4 Share Posted March 11, 2012 You may want to consider Hampton Inn and Suites, which is on Isla Verde Ave. , not far from the airport. It is close to a beach, restaurants, etc. and is in the general area of the Intercontinental, and a few other hotels. It is not in Old San Juan, but there is a bus stop near the hotel and it's not that far by taxi to either the cruise terminals or OSJ. We have chosen this hotel for our upcoming post-cruise one day stay in April, 2012, for several reasons: it has good reviews on Trip Advisor, includes a free hot breakfast, and there are no resort charges that some hotels with casinos charge their guests. There is a pool and an outdoor bar and grill. The photos of the rooms and facilities on their website looked good to us. We have been happy in our dealings so far with the reservation dept. When we originally made our reservation last September, the going rate for a king bed/non smoking room was $189, AAA $179, and AARP, $170. I recently saw a price drop on our room two different times. With a quick phone call, I was able to get the price reduction both times, no problem. The current price that I was given was regular rate $149, AAA and AARP $134, so I am a happy camper with my $134 rate. I will continue to watch for price drops. They also offer suites for not much more than a standard room, which might be nice when staying 3 nights. Good luck in your search for a reasonably priced hotel for your small group.
