Petrochelli Posted March 1, 2012 #1 Share Posted March 1, 2012 Hi, We are on the Arcadia in April /May Canaries, Spain and Portugal. Has anyone any experienced the customs in Southampton when you return are we allowed E.U. allowances because we visited Portugal & Spain---- or are we restricted with our allowance as we visited the Canaries. Would appreciate any advice on this matter. Cheers Petrochelli.:):):)

kevinyork Posted March 2, 2012 #3 Share Posted March 2, 2012 We have never seen them either. Your allowances are dependant on where you purchase the goods. If you buy them in an EU country then the relaxed EU limits apply to those purchases. If you buy them in the Canaries then your noe EU limits apply to those purchases, eg 200 Cigarettes, 1 Litre of Spirits etc. You should keep the receipts to prove where you bought the goods in case Customs do stop you. Duty free is now on board and will be cheaper than on shore. But you are restricted to the normal limits. You you would have to prove it was duty paid if you bought in the EU Nd of course you cannot mix and match. Gan Canny Dai
