And OP, you are correct... my email is already packed and ready for my upcoming cruise... Basically had almost the same thing happen to me cruise before last but I insisted that the Casino Host call Michael on Monday morning and find out where my promised money waiting for me at the Casino Cage was... and it worked!!!

I have seen the name Michael several times in posts about the Players Club. Do you have a number for him? The guy I spoke to today was supposed to email me the confirmation, and of course, he didn't. :( I think I better call again tomorrow.

how can i get their number, i played quite a bit on our last cruise. I found their website but doesnt have contact info but the direct carnival number. thanks

The phone number is 888-672-2582. Expect to be on hold awhile. :o

Same thing happened to us in Jan.

We called a few weeks before our cruise and were told we would get a premium package and 2 regular packages (there were 3 in our cabin). We requested an email confirmation but never received it.

When we got on the Inspiration, there was nothing in our cabin from OPC. We called the next day (while in Catalina), Michael apologized and were assured our packages would be in our cabin. We only received the premium package and 1 regular package.

Fast forward a few weeks later and the 3rd person in our cabin goes on a weekend cruise (Inspiration) and again she doesn't receive a regular package that she was told she would be getting.

We now email Michael directly. He got back to us in about 4 days.

Now I am confused. The person I spoke to today told me there was only one basket per cabin, even though both my husband and I qualified for the Premium Bon Voyage basket from our last cruise's gambling.

They usually rate anyone who plays at least $25 a hand and plays at least 4 hours a day. I have a friend of mine who actually cruises for free, in a Suite because if the casino is open, he's there!!!

And yes, absolutely always introudce yourself to the Casino Host the first night...it never hurts...

I believe you are correct. $25/hand four hours a day, but it does differ by game, so I don't really know what craps would be.

By the way your friend is making me jealous, I wish I had the guts to risk enough to rate a free cruise

Same thing just happened to us on the Pride. We called and both were promised the premium package. We called again to verify and also had emails confirming that we would BOTH receive them.

Cruise day, only one arrived. Went to guest services with confirmation in hand and were told we would get it the next night.

Next night, nothing...we were told to talk to the dining room hostess when we went to dinner, which we did. Again, another promise that it would arrive the next day.

Long story short, we talked personally, made calls, had confirmations and on the next to last evening we were taken care of.

We were really nice about the whole incident, but felt we did everything we should have done prior and still did a bit of run around once on the ship.

In addition the the basket, we were sent the chocolate strawberrys, some type of huge cake item and 3 additional bottles of wine.

Since we could not drink all of the bottles, we asked our room steward if would like to have them........the big smile on his face gave us the answer, so we left them for him.

ALSO.....side note.....

They did not have any lynards (bungy SNS card holders cords) on the Pride the week I was on the ship. They wanted you to go and buy them in the gift shop, they were the fancy ones for about $6.99. Not sure if it was a fluke or another change.

That is what happened to us on our last cruise even though both of us qualified for the Premium Bon Voyage package.

In the past, under same circumstances, we have gotten the basket and the 2 regular packages (photo coupon & strawberries).

Everyone in the cabin should get what they are qualified to get. As with Carnival customer service, try calling again and talk to someone else. Maybe you could ask them for something other than the 2nd basket.

When you call 888-672-2582, you get a message saying "leave a message, we'll get back to you". They never do. How do you get on hold? Do you just stay on the line, and eventually someone will answer?

I think you have to call during business hours on the East Coast. I called at lunch time and after holding for about 5-10 min, I spoke to a live person. During the hold, it offered to allow me to leave a message, but I just continued to hold. You will know they are open for calls when the message you hear is "All of our Reps are busy, please hold and the next available one will take your call" :)

How much in advance can you call?? Should one wait until just a few weeks before their cruise?

You can call at anytime, once you are booked and have a booking number. They will ask for your name, birthdate and booking number to look up your rating in the computer. They will then tell you which gift you qualify for. I also asked how many points I had so I could keep track on my own.

I will call back a few days before my cruise to ensure I am still in the system as receiving a gift basket. ;)

Sounds like there are some pretty seasoned carnival casino gamblers in here, so i'm going to half thread jack (sorry OP!). I typically spend 3-4 hours per night at the craps table, playing $20 rolls and 3x times odds. In any land based casino, this typically gets me comps of some variety from the casino. It seems that Carnival doesn't really reward, or even recognize, table players. Am I under the correct assumption or does anyone have some better insight? Feel like I should have at least had a few drinks sent my way by now. If not, no biggy, you'll still find me at the craps table every night :D

3-4 hours a night with a consistent $20 bet on the pass line should get you something in comps. However, they probably aren't including your 3x free odds in your rating. At least I know they don't in Vegas. ;)

I just tried calling, and lo and behold, got through. Only took a couple of minutes also.I spoke to Michael, and he said I would get a standard pkg in my cabin. Is that strawberry's and photo coupon? He promised to send me an email. We'll see if it arrives.

Yes. The standard package is chocolate covered strawberries and a $15 photo coupon.

OK, I'll settle for the strawberrys and coupon, IF I get them that is. Michael promised he would send me a confirmation email "right away". Not sure what he meant by right away, but that was yesterday afternoon, and still Nada.

Same here. I called yesterday and was told I would get deluxe basket, 2 bottles of water, wine, and photo coupon. I asked for an email confirmation and have received nothing. The rep said he would be sending it within a few moments I am thinking of calling back tomorrow for confirmation.

I just wanted to tell everyone to be sure and request an email confirming the Carnival Player's Club gift that is to be waiting for you onboard. Otherwise, you may not get it!

We spend a bit of time in the Casino when onboard and I called before our Splendor cruise in Dec to inquire for which gift we were eligible. I was told we would receive the Premium Bon Voyage Basket.

Once onboard, we received the photo coupon and the 2 large bottles of water, but did not receive the Bon Voyage Basket. I thought maybe it would come later in the evening but by the next afternoon, it had still not been delivered.

I then contacted the Casino Host to inquire as to why we didn't receive the basket. She told me she would look into it.

At dinner that evening, a Lady from the Bon Voyage Dept came to our table and told us that she had contacted the Carnival Players Club and we did not qualify for a basket. I told her that she was misinformed and that I was told before the cruise that we did qualify, she agreed to check further.

This back and forth went on for the entire cruise! They said they were in touch with Miami and had people looking into it and to check back. Although the Casino Host and the Lady from the Bon Voyage Dept were very nice, having to ask them about it daily became quite annoying.

Finally, on Friday evening, one day before departing from the ship, the basket was delivered to our room, without even a note of apology for the trouble and the delay. Not the best of Customer Service!

The basket was beautiful but we were given no time to enjoy it. We were only able to bring the wine home since fresh fruit isn't allowed to be taken off of the ship. We gave the basket and contents to our Cabin Steward but it would have been nice to have had a bit of time to enjoy it ourselves too!

So, this time when I contacted the Players Club to inquire about the Welcome gift, I requested an email with a confirmation that we are once again eligible for the Premium Basket. He did agree to throw in an extra photo coupon for our trouble before! :)

So, take my advice and request an confirmation email and print it out and take it with you onboard! The basket is very nice and I don't want anyone else to have the disappointment I had!

thanks for the heads up just got the email conformation no problems here!!!

How do you get into the OPC?

We have been on 2 Carnival cruises with 2 planned for this year, and we do play the slots in the casino. We are not what you consider high rollers, but DH almost had enough points for Drinks on Us program last cruise.

My real interest is qualifying for the OPC rate when booking. How do we get there?

Welcome to the club, as poker players we are usually treated like step children at most places. The only time it has ever paid off is in Vegas. We played in a Deep stack tournament at the Venetian in the summer and the following winter they comped us three nights.

If you have Total Rewards (Caesars Entertainment has a partner program you might want to look into NCL. We went on our first cruise with them a year ago and had a free drink card from day one (for casino) and at least three nights received cookies, chocolates, chocolate covered strawberries, etc. We felt pretty special, especially having never cruising on NCL before. I might add that my husband and I are hardly big gamblers, at most we spend $1500 between us.

Thanks for the advice. This to me is a sign of a poor program, or poor training of the casino host. There's not a land based casino on the planet that will watch a player cycle $2k/hour and not at least acknowledge the player. I'm not dying for a free drink, as I probably shouldn't be gambling if I am, it's just a bizarre set of circumstances.
