Freedom Of The Seas review 2/26 - 3/04

Recommended Posts

Well good evening one and all. I hope everyone had a wonderful day. We had a beautiful 75 degree day here in Jackson Ga. I have been debating whether or not to start this thread over and Unless someone ask I think we will stay with this one. I just hate how we screwed the beginning up.

Anyone up to a trip to St Thomas?

We did discover where all the x cab drivers from New York go to:D

Having our starboard balcony, we were treated to a show. They were blowing there horns and fussing at each other for everything. Seemed like all the trucks were banged up and dented. (no wonder, they were driving on the wrong side of the road  ) I am sooooo glad we did not rent a car and try to drive this ourselves. Let me post you a few picks of this piece of paradise before i continue.

Hey fishteamteam, Were you a deck when we were pulling out of St. Martinn? It was hilarious when the Carnival ship was waiting for the two couples strolling towards the ship and they also was running late to shove off. Everyone on both ships erupted in hoots and hollas as well as whistles and clapping as they stumbled, drunk as skunks up the gangway with Carnival personal "escorting" them aboard. It was the highlight of many departing ports for me. I only wish I had my video. We had a great cruise also....windy...but great.:)

I just stole the computer from Jeff so I could tell yall as pretty as these pictures are, they really don't do the ship or the ports justice! They are absolutely beautiful! I have never in my life seen water that blue!

Not sure which shot of the stairs because we took so many but more than likely yes. My(Cindy) Nikon cost $650 and most of the time we used the Panasonic Lumix which only cost $240 and can't tell that big of a difference in the pictures! Its compact and waterproof and takes great pictures in just about all situations! Why carry around anything else!

If you can quote(show me) the exact picture I will let you know for sure though...;)

On a serious note (but only for a minute)....our review of St Thomas.....

The excursion was well worth the money it included a short tour of the island with a stop on top for pictures, chairs, snorkle equipment and a so called Rum Punch!(We will explain later);)

The island itself is beautiful as long as you stay on the coast. Did not realize the people here are so poor....please keep this in mind when tipping!

There were 6 ships in port while we were there, seemed like a mad house at the port and though there were a lot of people at Sapphire Beach it did not seem overly crowded...We loved the excursion and would recommend it to anyone but would also love to see Magens Bay and St John on a less crowded day in port.

Royal Caribbean was well organized with their excursions here. There were people on the pier with paddles holding up the name of the excursion and tell you where to meet up. Very easy to find where to go.

Next up after a few more pictures......formal night!

Great review but for some reason some pics aren't coming up for me. We are sailing on the same ship and also staying at Country Inn and Suites. Can I view them on photobucket?

We are on photobucket as newfishteam with a picture of black and white dog with a red bow as the avatar and the albums are public so you should be able to see them there! :) Sorry they aren't coming up for you!

Even though St Thomas was Wednesday...the first formal night was Monday after we left Coco Cay. Like we said at the beginning of the review we did not eat in the dining room for anything but breakfast but we did however get all gussied up for formal night and make our way to the promenade for the captains galla. There was a live orchestra and they were giving out champagne for free! We walked around and enjoyed the music and champagne and had our portraits taken with every photographer around. You have to understand we don't normally do formal but we had fun with it and would recommend everyone experience this.....

Thanks! Wish we lived as close to Disney as you :). Visited 5 times since 2006. We really love it! Gonna be weird flying into Orlando and not going to Disney but I think we will survive.

Happy belated anniversary. Looks you had a great trip!
