marcruiser Posted March 6, 2012 #1 Share Posted March 6, 2012 We have been on NCL before, the Norway, Dream, and Jewel (twice, hi Hugo!). We are now booked on the Star. Any answers to the following questions will be greatly appreciated: 1. Inside Cabin 8093; is there one of those terrible doors separating the toilet from the sink area? They make it very difficult for tall, big people. 2. Does the Star have some nice shaded areas with chairs to sit and read? Thinking about the lovely areas under the lifeboats on the Jewel. 3. Can you wear shorts to the dining room at dinner time? 4. Is there a coin operated laundry room? 5. If no self-service laundry, do they do stuff your bag specials? Thank you for all your help. Was on the Star in November... here are some answers for you 1. I was in an inside cabin (not 8093) but should be similar. No door separating toilet from sink in our cabin 2. The promenade deck off the main atrium is a great place to sit in the shade and watch the ocean. 3. Don't recall seeing many shorts - I find the dining rooms to be a bit cool for shorts.... 4. ? 5. They did offer a laundry special

che5904 Posted March 6, 2012 #5 Share Posted March 6, 2012 2. As mentioned there are lounges under the lifeboats on the promenade deck. Also depending on the time of day, up towards the bow from the pool deck there are lounges that are shaded by the sides of the upper part of the ship. Even a nice spot that usually isn't very crowded right up at the bow near the upper hot tub. 3. Yes you can wear shorts in the Aqua MDR. NCL main policy states no shorts in the Aft MDR (Versailles) but depending on the sailing it may be allowed if marked in the freestyle daily. 4. No coin operated laundry room on NCL ships 5. Yes they have laundry specials, usually toward the end of the cruise.
