Here are deck-by-deck changes to Destiny/Sunshine:

(please add things I missed)

Decks 1 & 2 – No changes

Deck 3 – main floor of show room converted to cabins.

Deck 4 – New 1st floor of showroom (significantly reduced in size)

Mid-Ship Main dining room only 1 deck now, no 2nd level

New walkway through middle of this level.

Deck 5 - New walkway through center of deck. Casino smaller?

Aft lounge / Piano Bar / Jazz bar all gone and converted to cabins.

Sports and Wine bars rebranded to EA Sports Bar and Alchemy

Decks 6-8 same.

Deck 9 – Adds the rooms above the bridge

Aft pool converted to extra buffet seating

Blue Iguana Cantina & Pub, Red Frog and Guys all added

Deck 10 – Sliding dome gone – slide moved there, and waterworks area.

Upstairs buffet seating converted to kid/teen clubs

Several cabins added forward.

Deck 11 - Kids club/mini-golf area converted to several cabins.

Serenity pool & waterfall

Deck 12 - New deck – several cabins

Level 2 of Serenity

Deck 14 - Level 3 of Serenity with hot tub and bar.

Main things I noted:

-MDR seating reduced (midship dining room only 1 level)

-Buffet seating marginally improved (new seating in aft, but 2nd level gone).

-Main Showroom capacity reduced (2 levels instead of 3)

-Lido deck space reduced with new food venues. Going to be very crowded there.

-Improved passenger flow (decks 4 and 5 will have walkways through ship-similar to Spirit Class)

-Can't find the Piano bar - it is being moved or is gone.

-Casino may be smaller (or just split by walkway).

-Serenity looks like it is going to be the best version in the fleet!

-Will have those great forward-facing floor-to-ceiling window cabins above the bridge like Valor (as well as the two Captains Suites above the bridge wings).

New pay restaurants over the dining room and I think that is where the Piano bar has moved to.

Deck 5 - New walkway through center of deck. Casino smaller?

Aft lounge / Piano Bar / Jazz bar all gone and converted to cabins.

Sports and Wine bars rebranded to EA Sports Bar and Alchemy<- Redfrog Pub iDeck 5 (where teen clubs/arcade were), you can just make out the label on the Deck Plan.

Deck 9 – Adds the rooms above the bridge

Aft pool converted to extra buffet seating <- actually converted to an Italian Restaurant, Asian Restaurant and Havanas Cigar Bar (Yay!!) and Latin Club.

Blue Iguana Cantina & Pub, Red Frog and Guys all added

I was wondering where those announced additions were going. So if they are all there, buffet seating is actually decreased!

Big plus to the new cigar bar too.

I am interested in the ship and think there will be better passenger flow, but it will be a very crowded ship with all those new cabins and reduced free spaces.

.

Its probably going to be like the Triumph that has 2 bars and 2 food sations just seperated more. I think with the serenity areas it will eliminate alot of the crowding

BTW nice job

Im thinking you will still be able to eat aft of the buffet even with the new options. The Itilian is going to be the same place where pizza was and the asian will be on the opposite corner.

But Im wondering where they are putting the cigar bar. It says all the way aft. The new deck plans dont show it. So is that going to be walled off with exhaust fans to the deck above

Thanks for taking the time to break this down, I started looking at comparing the deck plans then I realized a. I am to lazy for that and b. I knew someone with more patience would start a thread and save me the trouble.

Not patience so much as procrastination from doing something else.

I'm a little disappointed in these changes. I'm not a fan of single story dining rooms, they seem so cramped. I love the multiple level ones, makes it open and airy.

I'll be interested in seeing how this pans out in reality with reducing public areas and increasing passenger counts.

This ship could end up having the worst passenger/space ratio in the fleet.

I agree about the dining rooms. I am a big fan of Princess, but prefer Carnival's larger open dining rooms over Princess' single-level ones.

The Breeze-like decor should be very nice too. I'm just concerned the ship is going to feel horribly crowded.

It looks to me that only the middle dining room will be cut down. The aft one I think will continue to be two levels.
