Rare bluejay555 Posted March 8, 2012 #2 Share Posted March 8, 2012 Not sure on best beach and restaurant, but we LOVED the "rafting on the Martha Brae" excursion. First they taught us how to make the perfect pina colada and gave everyone a small sample drink, then a kid scaled a palm tree to get a coconut (that was a show!), then we got on 2-person wooden rafts (you stay dry for the most part), each with our own guide, who poled us down the river and taught us all about Jamaican wildlife, etc. Very cool! The only bad thing was the begging. Seemed like everyone wanted a large tip. We ate at Margaritaville right on the water. It was a total party atmosphere and we loved it! On a different trip, we just shopped in the main shopping area and the people were so pushy. I had a lady actually grab my arm and throw me into a chair and start braiding my hair after I had said no thanks! Ugh.
dramasweetheart Posted March 8, 2012 #3 Share Posted March 8, 2012 I can't say specifically to Montego Bay. We docked in Montego and took the drive to Ocho Rios to climb Dunn's River Falls. If you can I highly recommend this! Yes this drive is a slight pain, but when you get there you go down to the beach and go up as a chain of people climbing up the falls. It is such a beautiful sight that I am glad I didn't miss it. You stop and take pictures, they video the whole climb and you can purchase it after the climb. It is an experience you will never forget. I will say this too, I am not a climber or have any kind of experience in climbing and this was awesome. Everyone grouped together and helped each other up the falls which was really nice.

nlt46 Posted March 9, 2012 #5 Share Posted March 9, 2012 I would recommend you visit the Ports of Call boards. You might get some more ideas there. And since you are new to cruise critic, you might find some other interest there on the different boards. Nancy
Westbank is bestbank Posted March 9, 2012 #6 Share Posted March 9, 2012 I've been looking for something to do myself and came across Sunset Beach Resort (all inclusive). Check it out it looks nice. (www.jamaicaforaday.com) I will be going there in April and plan to give a report on my experience.
Westbank is bestbank Posted March 9, 2012 #7 Share Posted March 9, 2012 By the way, I've also been looking a Doctor's Cave Beach that is much cheaper but not all inclusive
