Taxis at Galveston Cruisport

We are considering taking a taxi from the cruiseport rather than waiting for the hotel shuttle. I'm sure that most taxi drivers are hoping for fares up to the airports but are there a lot of taxis waiting there when our cruise comes in on Sunday morning?

I always take a taxi back to the hotel where my car is parked. I am too much of a type A to wait for the hotel shuttle. I have had good luck with no waiting for a cab...in December I think it was $15 or $20 to Moody Gardens.

We've cruised 5 times out of galveston...4 of those times we took a taxi back to our hotel, and never had to wait for one. The other time we took the free shuttle...and had to wait about 15-20 min for it ( we'd just missed getting on without a wait). Seems like there are usually plenty of taxis.:)
