Deposit for OBC

Hi:

Just wondering if anybody has paid cash for their on board accounts. Would like to know how much money we need to put down. Do not have a credit card and are from Canada so cannot use debit. Would they accept $200.00 if our service charges are prepaid? Thanks in advance for the replies, everybody on this board are so nice. Love reading the valuable info. :)

I did years back, put cash on my on board account with no problem at all but I thought you needed a credit card in order to sail. They still asked for a credit card to have on file. Are you already booked? When you register on-line they ask for a credit card to have on file as well. We usually put about 5-6 hundred dollars on our on board credit account for a one week cruise and we also pay our tips up front. It really depends on how many drinks you purchase, gambling, bingo, and of course the shops or photos you may want to purchase. You also need a credit card to prepay excursions and specialty dining. I guess my answer to your question would be contact your TA or NCL directly but I do think you are going to need some kind of credit card.

NCL does not collect any credit card information online. Credit card information is presented at check in, not online. OP, I do not know how much you need to put down. I wouldn't think more than $300 -$350 if the DSC is already paid.
