We will be stopping in Livorno on Sunday April 29...Is there something to see in Livorno or do you have a suggestion of someplace else to go? Being it's a Sunday, what will be open? We have been to Pisa and Florence for a day..stayed in San Gimignano for 3 nights (fabulous!)...thinking of Lucca....what do you think???

Been to Lucca, and we're going back this Fall. Easy to reach by train -- just a quick taxi ride to the train station. Once you get to Lucca, the entrance to the walled city is basically right across the street.

This is my recommendation for lunch - stop by there when you get to town to make a reservation, especially if you are with a group. http://www.trattoriadaleo.it/Home_en.html

Here's a link on how to get there -- double check on train schedules as they have changed only by a few minutes or so. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showpost.php?p=31657898&postcount=1273

Livorno has nothing. They did have a free bus from the pier to downturn Livorno near the church that was provided by local merchants. The best thing was a bakery with great pastry and espresso. We we were back at the ship in an hour. Luckily in the morning we had taken a trip to Lucca and Pisa.

Thank you for the links...As we will be there on a Sunday will there be anything open? Any other ideas of where we may visit?:)

Go on your Roll Call and see what others are doing. Maybe you can get a group for a tour of some nearby Tuscan wineries w/lunch.
