How to pay Autoprogreso?

We plan on finding Autoprogreso at the pier and taking an excursion. But how do we pay? Visa? US dollars? Are the prices listed in pesos or dollars (both have $ right?). If we pay in US dollars will we get pesos for our change? Thanks for your help.

On the AP web site they prices are listed in American dollars. We always just pay them in cash when we arrive and have always received dollras back if we need change. We try to have the correct amount. In fact, one time when I shopped in Progreso at the market I realized I wanted some pesos to take home to someone as a souvenier and they were hard to come by. All the vendors had were mostly American $$$. Which AP excursion are you taking? We've used them several times and have no complaints about them-they are great.

Thank you. We are going to take the one with the 30 minute bus ride to the Mayan ruin, DZ, if I remember correctly. I will confirm before we leave. Our cruise leaves one week from today. So excited to be in warm sunshine!

Have done the Dz ruins several times and always find somthing we missed the time before. When you get to the cenote where you can swim take a few minutes and keep veering to your left and you will find another part of the ruins that aren't as developed but very awesome, at least they were a year ago. We discovered what looks like some type of stadium and other stuff. I'm attaching pictures.

The US dollar, the Canadian dollar and the peso use the $ sign, yes.

You might get dollars back if they have them, but you might also get pesos as the official currency of the country is the Mexican peso. One wouldn't expect to be able to pay for something in the US with pesos or expect pesos back as change as the official currency in the US is the dollar. Although that might change soon if the Chinese decide to collect on their loans.

Most regular stores in Progreso (not the tourist stalls on the beach) will probably give pesos in change which you can take back as souvenirs.
