Robert Teige

Captain Teige was Captain of the Dream on it's ill-fated English Channel collision a few years back. NCL released him following investigations. I had heard, from other officers later, that Tiege was employed with one of the large Ferry lines in Scandonavia. But, again, that was a few years back so no idea now.

Capt Tiege was in command when a container ship collided with the Dream in the English Channel in 1999. The collision happened as the Dream was inbound to Dover at the conclusion of the Scando voyage.

 

No major injuries (as most we in bed) but the Dream was laid up for two months to replace the bow (and other repairs).

 

Subsequent investigation placed blame on both ships for the mishap. While the Capt. was not on the bridge at the time, he was "in command" and thus partially to blame.
