CRUIS4ME Posted March 28, 2012 #5 Share Posted March 28, 2012 Here's a piece of my review from Feb that concerns the P.Party. See the link below for the full story. The following is an excerpt. The highlight was attending the Prohibition Party on Thursday night. What a hoot! This was very well orchestrated from phone calls, secret pass words, invitations, and lapel pins being trickled into our stateroom for the first three days. Finally we all met at the designated spot and were escorted through a “staff only” door to our Speak Easy. The crew were dressed for the period and assumed identities. They played up their roles and got us all involved with period “talk” and “play”. The entertainment was so right and we had a good time with dancing, playing the act, and mingling with others throughout the two hour affair. Highly recommend this venue! "Costumes"....the P Party is the second formal night. I went to the fabric store and bought sequence trip that is on a stretch band, sewed it together, and attached some feathers and stuff. Took a boa. And stayed in my "party dress" which I wore that evening as part of the formal attire. DH had a tux and that night he decided to wear a off white jacket with the tux pants and shirt and bow tie. People thought he looked authentic as in CasaBlanca. Others had cocktail dresses that were in tiers and kind of looked flapperish. A few actually bought "costumes" and some just went. Hope this helps. Rare Familygoboston Posted March 28, 2012 #6 Share Posted March 28, 2012 Thanks for the update! I'm trying to figure out if this party is always held on formal night on both Eastern and Western Itineraries or if it is held on Day 5 on all itineraries ( formal night is day 6 on Eastern Itineraries). Anyone who has been have an idea bout this? It's never in the Compass so I can't really sort it out.
Cleo1611 Posted March 29, 2012 #7 Share Posted March 29, 2012 I was on the 4 March sailing - eastern itinerary - and Prohibition Night was on the Thursday, ie the fifth night
Rare Familygoboston Posted March 29, 2012 #8 Share Posted March 29, 2012 I was on the 4 March sailing - eastern itinerary - and Prohibition Night was on the Thursday, ie the fifth night Thanks Cleo! That seems to be the difference...the party seems to always be on day 5 but formal night floats from day 5 to day 6 on Western vs Eastern itinerary. I wonder if it get popular enough now that people are hearing about it if they will add extra dates (as they do with Ritas fiesta) on future cruises? It will be interesting to see what happens over the next year before I sail!
