Will it be refunded automatically?

I have two FCC that I purchased last September. I know that I have 24 months to book and 36 months to sail but because of financial constraints right now I don't envision being able to use them in the time allowed.

 

I could use the $200 right now but I don't want to jump the gun in case my current situation changes significantly and allows me to use the certificates.

 

That's the lot of information for my basic question which is, if I don't book another cruise by the 24 month mark will my money be refunded automatically or will I have to call in and request the refund?

Pretty sure you have to return the certificate to carnival. They will not automatically send you the money. Check the back of certificate for any instructions.
