Private Beaches in Hawaii?

Sometimes instead of shore excursions my wife and I prefer to go to a private beach or a resort that offers daily access, for a fee of course. These are quite popular in Europe and in the Caribbean but never heard of any in Hawaii.

 

Can anyone suggest any on Mauii, Kona, Hilo or Kauai?

While you can get day passes at certain resorts to use their facilities (pool, spa, etc.), all beaches--every single one no matter where it is--are public in Hawaii.

The Sheraton Kaanapali on Maui is a favorite of mine, great snorkling, beautiful pool area and beach, it's only 10 minutes from Lahaina by taxi.....

As Beachchick said, all beaches in Hawaii are public, and access is no issue. Stayed at Sheraton Kaanapali last year and snorkeling was quite good right off shore. You can rent equipment from the hotel or cheaper at several locations in Lahaina. Taxis and some shuttles run from Lahaina to the resorts. Waves can pick up sometimes, but there are gobs of fish, some corals, and even green sea turtles. Beach is quite nice also.
