and if so, what has been your experience? If you don't know what I'm talking about, you haven't lol. My husband switched to vaping over a year ago but he's wondering how other pax and crew are about it. Thank you in advance :D

I haven't yet, DH and I just started in October. But I would also like to hear about experiences from people who have. From what I understand, the rules are the same as they were before we started vaping. I know it's wishful thinking, but maybe some of those rules will relax before I cruise in August!

Wouldn't risk it! Not letting my father bring his this time around either, don't care how much he cries about it. I've heard...umm...horror stories of situations I would like to avoid completely, such as paying extra air fare to fly home if you know what I mean.

WOW..for vaping?!?

I read on another post somewhere that you can only use e-cigs where regular ones are allowed. Obviously you would be able to in your cabin but other than that maybe they assume it would be too confusing for the crew. I have used my e-cig at airports but not on the plane. Never had any problem there.

Something tells me that you don't know what the OP was actually asking.

Oh goodness! I certainly didn't mean anything illegal! I'm sorry I was vague, I just didn't want this to turn into another hate thread where everyone goes off topic about "you're ruining my vacation" and endless debates, etc.

OK, I'm thinking you're not on the same page here.....do you know what vaping is?

OP - I have been vaping for 3 years now....did last year on the Glory with no probs. BUT, have just heard that the rules are now the same on board which means if it's no smoking, it's no vaping. I'm not sure if it's always been that way and I was just ignorant of that fact or what. I did last year in the MDR with no probs BUT I let my tablemates know it wasn't real and everyone was fine with it. If they had been bothered by it at all, I wouldn't have done it, but they were all quite interested in how it worked lol. I'm also discreet about it as I don't want to attract attention or freak someone out - like on an airplane. Which, btw, was flying Delta last week and they made the announcement at the beginning about no smoking....yada yada yada....the flight attendant said "smoking or the use of tobacco-less products are prohibited" The first time I have EVER heard that.

I really and truly use it everywhere, most people think it's a pen. But in public I am so discreet about it, most times there is no vapor or I blow it out so quickly there's not much and it disappears almost instantly, I also cover the end so no one can see the light. I am not into attracting attention, just feeding my rather pathetic addiction. :D

You cannot use them in non smoking areas. I still smoke but I carry an ecig and use it if I need a jolt (undercover) like airports or cabins.

BAHAHAHAHA!!! Okay, here in California "Vaping" is vaporized Marijuana (for those with medical cards of course ;)) like my father. He has recently began vaping, as you waste about a third when smoking. It makes it last longer, and concentrates the THC.

Okay, now E-Cigs :D Lol, I only do when I'm stuck in the hospital since our hospital has recently gone smoke free. I did hear like Sarah said, that the rules have changed, and they're only acceptable in smoking areas. Obviously no one would know if you were "vaping" in your room, unless you're California vaping :D

Just had to add, WOW, mis-understanding of the century!

Concentrate forms of Medial Cannabis are under extreme scrutiny right now in California, I really wouldn't risk it. City and County attorneys vary on their interpretation of 215 and if concentrates are covered at all under our MM laws.

Edited to add:

I doubt I would travel with large vaporizers anyway. An Omicron would be more suitable for travel.

You and I must be under the same cloud of misconception.

OOOHHHH Global location at its best ;) I've been cracking up here, then to see the ONLY other poster from California jump on the same train I did just made it all the better! :D

lolol, that's awesome. I work full time in the political arena for MM, at both the state and federal level. The OP really fooled me!! It's nice to 'meet' another compassionate person on this board :)

They are great for inside the cabin and anywhere else nobody can see you.

I dont think you would get away with it in the MDR.:D

Trouble is if you are off analogues all together, its not really a good idea to be vaping around the smokers.

On my last cruise I met another guy who vaped and we both started back on analouges within a few days:mad: because we were with all the smokers and it was so easy to smoke again.

I am now smoking more than vaping,I think if you go back to analouges for a while vaping isnt as affective as the first stint.

I have been Vaping for 18 months. No Analogs since Sept 2010.

We sailed on the Carnival Fantasy last May and Vaped everywhere on the ship and had no problems. I sat by a window in the MDR and was discreet when I used mine

In fact, it was on the Fantasy the I learned about them from a gentleman who Vaped at our breakfast table in the MDR.

The Casino folks appreciated it as I was not blowing tobacco smoke in their faces or direction. I informed many about it and hopefully they made the switch.

We are sailing again in May on the Fantasy and I will be taking my PV with me.

Tell your husband to go for it.

The first place I ever saw anyone Vaping was on board a cruise ship recently on the Promenade deck before dinner. He was out in the seating area that runs along the Promenade and its non smoking... and no one questioned him and it really wasn't a big deal.

I very recently switched and I'm actually thinking I may just grab a couple disposable Blu's at the store and keep them in my cabin rather then bring all the chargers etc.... People can barely even tell when you use them and are not affected by them, but it's really not worth the grief and sour looks someone will give you when you blow what looks like smoke out...

I love my analogs...wish I could switch totally to my ecig. I've tried nJoy, GreenSmoke, and just bought the Blu. I'm a menthol smoker so it's so hard to find one that truly tastes like menthol. Any advice from menthol smokers? I'll keep my ecig for when I need to get my fix in non-smoking areas though; it's better than going nuts and wanting to strangle someone LOL.
