KFH Posted April 25, 2005 #1 Share Posted April 25, 2005 We were going to be taking a shuttle bus into Denali, but heard about the Denali Safari and was considering that instead. I have 14 and 11 year old sons who would probably like the trucks better. If any one has done both, how do they compare and what would you choose? I know the safari will be much more expensive, but don't take that into consideration. Thanks!
wolfie11 Posted April 25, 2005 #2 Share Posted April 25, 2005 I'm not sure what Denali Safari you mean. However, there are no tours I know of into the National Park with trucks. The dust would be pretty unbearable if it was dry and it would be wet and cold if it was raining. Are you sure the tour goes into Denali?
Yukon Posted April 25, 2005 #3 Share Posted April 25, 2005 The Denali Safari is amazing - unique and hugely enjoyable. Your boys will think it is majorly kewl!! :D They actually do go into the park a bit, on an old mining road. I have a writeup and photo album from a trip with them last year - http://www.explorenorth.com/articles/monster_truck_tour.html Murray
KFH Posted April 26, 2005 Author #4 Share Posted April 26, 2005 Murry, Have you done the Shuttle Buses and how would you compare them? Thanks
Yukon Posted April 26, 2005 #5 Share Posted April 26, 2005 I've done both the Tundra Wilderness Tour and the shuttles probably 20 times. The wildlife viewing is FAR better on those buses, but if I had to pick one to go on again right now, I'd be on the Safari trucks, partly becauseb it's so different, but mostly because you're away from the crowds of Denali.
