Voyager class stairwell noise

Help! Is there stairway/elevator noise that impacts the "bump" rooms on the Voyager class ships? I need to make my deposit today for cabin 8620 on the Explorer and really need some advice. Thanks so much if you can help me..

No noise at all from the elevators or stairwells. We were so happy with our "bump" cabin. Only problem was the doorbell was quite attractive to a couple of girls, they rang it all day! I would go for one of these cabins in a heartbeat!!!

We had 9618 on the AOS a couple of weeks ago. No noise whatsoever from the hallway, elevators or the stairways. Although we could hear the piano in the Royal Suite above us. CUE -Chopsticks & Linus' song.

 

We enjoyed the cabin immensely! It was the nicest one that we have had thus far. The balcony was huge and the view fore and aft was incredible! I don't think you can go wrong with a hump cabin.

First time cruiser here (Grandeuar April 2006), what is a "Bump" cabin?? I just finally figured out what an aft was. Are there other terms with regards to the cabins??

The "bump" (or "hump") cabin is on the little part of the ship that bumps out, usually about mid-ship. If you look at a map of the ship you'll see what I mean. Often the view from the balconies here are more panoramic. Plus often they are in a good central location on the ship. Hope that helps.

We had cabin 7324 on the Mariner last year and had no problems with noise day or night. Our cabin was only like 2 down from the elevator and stariway area. One good thing about a cabin in that area is that you have easy access to the elevators and don't have to walk a "mile" to get to one.
