Peggy's cove

If you want to really appreciate Peggys Cove, rent a car or hire a taxi so you can be there earlier or later than all your fellow passengers.

Also check out tom's port guides (google it).

However, there are many, many things to do in Halifax and area so you will have to choose carefully. You could easily spend the day just in Halifax.

Hi maryann ns,

We will be in Sydney on June 13 from 8AM to 4PM. I had originally wanted to do the Cabot Trail. But, after much research, I liked your recommendation of Iona & Baddeck. Say, I rent a car. I have read that we make have 6.5 hours to 7 hours to tour because of the time it takes to rent the car & return it. What route do you recommend taking from Sydney & returning to Sydney? I have a map but would like to take the scenic route. Please tell me what towns to drive though. Also, how much time will that allow us at the Highland Village & how much time will that allow us at the Alexander Graham Bell Museum?

Thank you for your help,

gonefishin' :)

Sydney to Baddeck and Iona and back to Sydney:

You will want to take the day, spending a couple hours at each museum.

Hi Maryann ns,

Thank you for the information! I would have liked to have seen the Cabot Trail. But, with my time in port, it would have only been part of the Cabot Trail. If using your directions and adding Indian Brook (to see part of the Cabot Trail), the driving time changes to 4 hours 17 minutes. Then, we would only have a little over 1 hour at each museum. In your opinion, would this little part of the Cabot Trail be worth the change or should we just stick to your map & more time at each museum.

Thanks,

gonefishin'
